# Spiritual Land > Spiritual Land is a piece of land, still to be found, where community, ecology, spirituality, ritual, ceremony, frequencies, music, art, light and families come together. Anchor line: "The sacred space for your true self." Facts as they stand: the land has NOT been found; the search is open and not tied to one country. No dates are published. The order is: circle (people) -> gatherings (festival, retreats, ceremonies, held on borrowed ground) -> land (bought and held by a foundation or cooperative of the circle). Nothing is for sale on the site; the gatherings fund the ground. Not a religion: open to every tradition and none. Children are designed in from the start, not a side programme. Home base: Netherlands. Family projects: spiritual.mx (directory of ceremonies and healers in Mexico), festival.productions (festival production platform). ## Main pages - [Home](https://spiritual.land/): overview, ten pillars, how it becomes real, join the circle - [Manifest](https://spiritual.land/manifest): Why a piece of land, and what it is for. - [Ten pillars](https://spiritual.land/pillars): Community, ecology, spirituality, ritual, ceremony, frequencies, music, art, light, families. - [The search](https://spiritual.land/the-search): What we look for in land, and how you can point us to it. - [Gatherings](https://spiritual.land/gatherings): Festival, retreats and ceremonies: how the land becomes real. - [Journal](https://spiritual.land/journal): Long reads from the road to the land. - [Co-create](https://spiritual.land/co-create): Offer land, hold a ceremony, bring your craft. - [About](https://spiritual.land/about) - [Principles](https://spiritual.land/principles) - [Glossary](https://spiritual.land/glossary) - [FAQ](https://spiritual.land/faq) - [Press](https://spiritual.land/press) - [Contact](https://spiritual.land/contact) - [Join the circle](https://spiritual.land/join): email sign-up, nothing sold ## The ten pillars - [01 Community](https://spiritual.land/pillars/community): Community on Spiritual Land: a circle of people who tend the place together, share meals, hold each other, and keep the land open to newcomers. - [02 Ecology](https://spiritual.land/pillars/ecology): Ecology on Spiritual Land: regenerative care for soil, water, trees and animals, with the land itself setting the limits of everything that happens on it. - [03 Spirituality](https://spiritual.land/pillars/spirituality): Spirituality on Spiritual Land: a place for the inner life without dogma, open to every tradition and to none, held by nature, silence and ceremony. - [04 Ritual](https://spiritual.land/pillars/ritual): Ritual on Spiritual Land: the small daily acts, from morning silence to the evening fire, that turn a piece of land into a place with its own rhythm. - [05 Ceremony](https://spiritual.land/pillars/ceremony): Ceremony on Spiritual Land: cacao, fire, sweat lodge, sound and seasonal ceremonies, led by people trusted to hold them, with integration afterwards. - [06 Frequencies](https://spiritual.land/pillars/frequencies): Frequencies on Spiritual Land: sound healing, sound baths, gongs, bowls, voice and vibration as a daily practice and as ceremony, without pseudoscience. - [07 Music](https://spiritual.land/pillars/music): Music on Spiritual Land: live and acoustic, from drum circles and fire songs to a stage for medicine music and ecstatic dance, with silence programmed. - [08 Art](https://spiritual.land/pillars/art): Art on Spiritual Land: land art, installations, craft and creation made on the land from natural materials, by residents and by everyone who comes. - [09 Light](https://spiritual.land/pillars/light): Light on Spiritual Land: sunrise and sunset as daily ceremony, fire at the centre of the night, lanterns and light art, real dark kept for the stars. - [10 Families](https://spiritual.land/pillars/families): Families on Spiritual Land: parents, children and grandparents together, real work for every age, a children’s village at the centre, and safety first. ## Journal - [Ecology first: regenerative land, permaculture, and leaving it better](https://spiritual.land/journal/ecology-first): The land comes first and gets the last word: four seasons of walking before building, food forests, water slowed and stored, and a yearly count that must go up. - [How a gathering becomes a place: the money, plainly](https://spiritual.land/journal/how-a-gathering-becomes-a-place): Nothing on this site is for sale, so how does the land get paid for? Festival, retreats and ceremonies, a fund that can only buy land, and open accounts. - [Light as a pillar: sun, fire, lantern, and the dark we will protect](https://spiritual.land/journal/light-as-a-pillar): Why sunrise and sunset are the oldest ceremony, why fire is the centre of the night, how made light should behave, and why darkness is what we have to protect. - [A day on the land, imagined](https://spiritual.land/journal/a-day-on-the-land): From the bell before dawn to the last song at the fire: what an ordinary day will look like on Spiritual Land. Not a festival day, an ordinary one. - [Frequencies, sound and the body: what we know and what we do not](https://spiritual.land/journal/frequencies-sound-and-the-body): A gong in a field at night does something a speaker cannot. What sound reliably does to breath, heart and time, which claims we refuse, and why silence counts. - [Families: why the whole family shapes the whole place](https://spiritual.land/journal/families): Most gatherings are built for adults, with a corner for the children. We build the place for families: three generations, real work, rules before poetry. - [What makes land right for a sacred place](https://spiritual.land/journal/what-makes-land-right): Water, forest and meadow, real dark, room, reachability, neighbours, light building rights, a price the circle can carry. The search criteria and the reasoning. - [Ten pillars, one ground: how the pieces fit](https://spiritual.land/journal/ten-pillars-one-ground): Community, ecology, spirituality, ritual, ceremony, frequencies, music, art, light, families. Why ten, why these, and how each covers a way it could go wrong. - [What we mean by sacred, and what we do not](https://spiritual.land/journal/what-we-mean-by-sacred): The name is Spiritual Land and the word deserves a plain explanation: what sacred means on the land, why there is no doctrine, how the inner life stays honest. - [Why a piece of land, and not another festival](https://spiritual.land/journal/why-a-piece-of-land): Every beautiful gathering we have been part of ended on Sunday. This is the case for building one thing that stays, and why land is the only way to do it. ## Glossary - [Altar](https://spiritual.land/glossary/altar): A surface, indoors or out, where things are placed with intention: a candle, a stone, a photograph, a name. - [Artist residency](https://spiritual.land/glossary/artist-residency): A stay of weeks on the land for an artist or maker, housed and fed, with time and help to make a piece that stays. - [Cacao ceremony](https://spiritual.land/glossary/cacao-ceremony): A gathering in circle around a shared cup of pure, minimally processed cacao, held with intention, usually at dawn or dusk. - [Ceremony](https://spiritual.land/glossary/ceremony): A marked moment with a clear beginning, a clear end and someone trusted holding the space in between. - [Dark sky](https://spiritual.land/glossary/dark-sky): A place that keeps artificial light low, warm and shielded enough that the night sky, including the Milky Way, is fully visible. - [Drum circle](https://spiritual.land/glossary/drum-circle): People seated in a ring with drums and percussion, playing together without a score or a leader, finding a shared rhythm as they go. - [Ecstatic dance](https://spiritual.land/glossary/ecstatic-dance): Free movement to music, without alcohol, talking or performance, as a practice rather than a party; often at sunrise, outdoors. - [Families](https://spiritual.land/glossary/families): The tenth pillar: Spiritual Land is designed for the whole family, several generations on one ground, rather than for adults with a kids’ corner attached. - [Fire keeper](https://spiritual.land/glossary/fire-keeper): The person responsible for a fire from the moment it is lit until it is out: wood, water, safety, and staying to the end. - [Frequency](https://spiritual.land/glossary/frequency): Vibration, in sound and in the body, felt as much as heard; the physical basis of the frequencies pillar, described without pseudoscience. - [Gong](https://spiritual.land/glossary/gong): A large bronze disc, struck with a soft mallet, that produces a wash of overlapping tones felt in the body as much as heard. - [Grounding](https://spiritual.land/glossary/grounding): Coming back into the body and onto the ground, through feet, water, work, food, or simply standing still outside. - [Holding space](https://spiritual.land/glossary/holding-space): Staying fully present with a person or a group while something difficult or large happens, without fixing, steering or leaving. - [Integration](https://spiritual.land/glossary/integration): The time and company after a ceremony or strong experience in which it is spoken, settled and carried into ordinary life. - [Intentional community](https://spiritual.land/glossary/intentional-community): A group of people who choose to live and work together around shared values and agreements, rather than by accident of geography. - [Land art](https://spiritual.land/glossary/land-art): Art made in and from the land, with its own materials, built to weather and mostly left where it was made. - [Light art](https://spiritual.land/glossary/light-art): Art made with light: lanterns, candles, fire sculpture, projection on trees, installations that exist only after dark. - [Medicine music](https://spiritual.land/glossary/medicine-music): Songs, often simple and repetitive, made to be sung together in ceremony and at the fire, for their effect on the people singing rather than for performance. - [Permaculture](https://spiritual.land/glossary/permaculture): A way of designing land and settlements so that water, soil, plants, animals and people support each other, modelled on how a healthy ecosystem works. - [Regenerative land](https://spiritual.land/glossary/regenerative-land): Land managed so that it gains life each year: more soil, more water held, more trees, more species, measured rather than claimed. - [Rewilding](https://spiritual.land/glossary/rewilding): Deliberately leaving parts of the land alone so that wild processes, and wild species, return on their own. - [Ritual](https://spiritual.land/glossary/ritual): A small act repeated until it carries meaning on its own: the bell at dawn, hands washed before the shared meal, one true thing at the evening circle. - [Sacred space](https://spiritual.land/glossary/sacred-space): A place protected, by agreement and by care, long enough for the unperformed version of you to show up. - [Sharing circle](https://spiritual.land/glossary/sharing-circle): A group seated in a ring where one person speaks at a time, uninterrupted, and nobody fixes, argues with or comments on what is said. - [Sound bath](https://spiritual.land/glossary/sound-bath): Lying down while a practitioner plays gongs, bowls and other instruments around you for thirty to sixty minutes; you do nothing. - [Stewardship](https://spiritual.land/glossary/stewardship): Caring for a place on behalf of those who come after, rather than owning it for what it can yield now. - [Sweat lodge](https://spiritual.land/glossary/sweat-lodge): A low, dark, dome-shaped structure in which hot stones and water make steam, for rounds of heat, silence and song held by an experienced leader. - [Toning](https://spiritual.land/glossary/toning): Sustaining simple vowel sounds with the voice, alone or in a circle, for the physical and emotional effect of the vibration. ## Optional - [llms-full.txt](https://spiritual.land/llms-full.txt): every page in full text - [Sitemap](https://spiritual.land/sitemap-index.xml) - Contact: hello@spiritual.land
