Frequencies

Sound you feel before you hear it.

Pillar 06 of ten

A gong in a field at night does something to a body that a speaker cannot. Bowls, voice, drums, didgeridoo, the low hum of a crowd breathing together. Frequencies is the pillar for sound as medicine: felt in the chest, in the ground, in the quiet after.

Sound as medicine, honestly

We will not tell you that a particular hertz cures anything. We will tell you that lying on the ground while a gong rolls over you for forty minutes changes your breathing, your heart rate and your sense of time, and that most people stand up softer than they lay down. That is enough. It does not need to be dressed up.

Instruments of the land

Gongs, crystal and metal bowls, handpans, drums, didgeridoo, tuning forks, and the human voice. Over time the land collects its own instruments, made or gifted, that stay and are played by whoever knows how. A sound temple, open at dawn and at night, is one of the first things we want to build.

The voice

The cheapest instrument and the most powerful. Group toning, chanting, humming in a circle, singing badly and loudly around a fire. Voice work is the most democratic of all the frequencies because everybody already has one.

Silence is a frequency too

The land will be as careful with silence as with sound. Quiet hours are real quiet: no music, no generators, no talking above a murmur. Sound only means something if there is silence around it.

In short

Frequencies, in four lines

  • Sound as medicine, described honestly: it changes breath, heart rate and sense of time.
  • Gongs, bowls, handpans, drums, didgeridoo and voice; a sound temple is an early build.
  • Voice is the most democratic frequency: everybody has one.
  • Silence is protected as carefully as sound.

Questions

What is a sound bath?
You lie down, usually on the ground or a mat, and a practitioner plays gongs, bowls and other instruments around you for thirty to sixty minutes. You do nothing. Most people come out deeply relaxed, some emotional, a few asleep. All are fine.
Does sound healing really work?
It reliably relaxes the body and shifts the nervous system toward rest, which is measurable. Claims beyond that, about specific frequencies curing specific things, we do not make. We prefer to let people feel it and decide.
Can I bring my own instruments?
Yes, and instruments gifted to the land stay and are played by the community. Ask before playing during quiet hours.
